Latin Keyboard for Shanghainese
Instructions
Copy [Ctrl]+[C] & Paste [Ctrl]+[V]
To type directly with the computer keyboard:
- Type the number after the vowel or consonant to add a diacritic.
macron (◌̄) = 1
acute accent (◌́)= 2
breve (◌̆) = 3 (Note: Breves are not used in Shanghainese)
grave accent (◌̀) = 4
circumflex (◌̂) = 5 (Note: Circumflex are not used in Shanghainese)
double macron (◌̿) = 6 (Note: Double macrons are not used in Shanghainese)
diaresis (below the vowel) (◌̤) = 7 (Note: Diaresis below the vowel are not used in Shanghainese)
vertical line (◌̍) = 8 (Note: Vertical lines are not used in Shanghainese)
diaresis (above the vowel) (◌̈) = 9 (Note: diaresis above the vowels are used only for the letters "ï" and "ü" in Shanghainese)
tilde (◌̃) = ~ (Note: Tildes are used only for the letters "ã" and "ñ" in Shanghainese)
diaresis (below the vowel) plus diacritic (above the vowel) (◌̤̄)(◌̤́ )(◌̤̌)(◌̤̀ )(◌̤̂)(◌̤̿)(◌̤̍) = type vowel letter twice + diacritic number (Note: diaresis below the vowels are not used in Shanghainese)
