Instructions

To type directly with the computer keyboard:

  • Type the number after the vowel or consonant to add a diacritic.
    macron (◌̄) = 1
    acute accent (◌́)= 2
    caron (◌̌) = 03
    grave accent (◌̀) = 4
    breve (◌̆) = 06
    circumflex (◌̂) = 5
    double macron (◌̿) = 6
    diaresis (below the vowel) (◌̤) = 7
    diaresis (above the vowel) (◌̈) = 9
    diaresis (below the vowel) plus diacritic (above the vowel) (◌̤̄)(◌̤́ )(◌̤̌)(◌̤̀ )(◌̤̆)(◌̤̂)(◌̤̿)(◌̤̍) = type vowel letter twice + diacritic number

Shortcuts (remember to add a space in front of the letters):

* ghn = gṳ̀-huōi-nêng
* dgn = duōi-gá-nêng
* nhn = nì-huōi-nêng
* uhn = uôi-huōi-nêng
* Surely = Uòi ì-cài iáu nì uā
* igs = iŏ̤ng-gă̤-sĭ

The most commonly used words can be typed directly without adding the diacritic numbers (however, remember to add a space in front of the letters), eg:

* ciusi = ciū-sī
* engniong = ēng niōng
