Latin Keyboard for the Southern Min
閩南語白話字線上鍵盤
Instructions
Copy [Ctrl]+[C] & Paste [Ctrl]+[V]
It should be noted that the diacritic tonal numbers used on this keyboard differs from the Pe̍h-ōe-jī Tonal Numbers shown on Wikipedia.
This is purposely done to ensure compatibility with all the other Sinitic keyboards on this website so that the tonal numbers remain unchanged and to avoid needless confusion.
To type directly with the computer keyboard:
- Type the number after the vowel or consonant to add a diacritic.
macron (◌̄) = 1
acute accent (◌́)= 2
breve (◌̆) = 3 (Note: Breves are not used in Southern Min)
grave accent (◌̀) = 4
circumflex (◌̂) = 5
double macron (◌̿) = 6 (Note: Double macrons are not used in Southern Min)
diaresis (below the vowel) (◌̤) = 7 (Note: diaresis below the vowels are not used in Southern Min)
vertical line (◌̍) = 8
diaresis (above the vowel) (◌̈) = 9 (Note: diaresis above the vowels are not used in Southern Min)
tilde (◌̃) = ~ (Note: tildes are not used in Southern Min (except Teochew and Hainanese but they will be listed in their respective keyboards instead of here)
diaresis (below the vowel) plus diacritic (above the vowel) (◌̤̄)(◌̤́ )(◌̤̌)(◌̤̀ )(◌̤̂)(◌̤̿)(◌̤̍) = type vowel letter twice + diacritic number (Note: diaresis below the vowels are not used in Southern Min)
Copy [Ctrl]+[C] & Paste [Ctrl]+[V]
